Dude...
... I read so much now that i don't have a tv at the ready. Somehow that extra 20 feet and risk of public interaction has returned me to my first love. Laziness and natural introversion- an educational combination.
Please comment with your book recommendations- I usually go to the library and pick up a book by an author I have vaguely heard of and then the book by the guy next to him and then a book off of the books-to-be-reshelved (because someone else found them interesting) and then a book on cd (because i can load 'em on my ipod and listen while i'm working out) (and then delete them promptly, bc i don't have that much space on the pod to be having books on there).
I'm an indiscriminate reader so recommend anything. But I'm not really into hard core fantasy or romantic novels. And I LOVE murder and corruption. But really- anything.

The book I'm reading now is quite good. The Historian by Linda Kosovo. It's only been out for 2 weeks and I think it's at the top of the NY Times Bestseller list. A good 'lazy' read is any of Janet Evanovich's mysteries. (1 for the money; 2 for the dough, etc) They're fun and very fast easy reads.
If you want nonfiction I just finished Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything and I was quite impressed with it. He basically gives a short lucid explanation of the universe according to current scientific beliefs.
"Catcher in the Rye" "A Prayer for Owen Meaney" "Confederacy of Dunces" "The Girl with a Pearl Earring" "Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim" "Che" "John Adams" are a few must reads if you haven't already. Enjoy!
People have been telling me that the Historian is the new Da Vinci Code. And since my dad and I devoured the Da Vinci Code the last time we went on vacation to Nova Scotia, I'm all about it once I can find a copy. I also remember reading some Bill Bryson, I think In a Sunburned Country, so I may pick up the short history. thanks for the suggestions.
I've been meaning to read COnfederacy of Dunces for awhile now because they're making a movie of it (with Mos Def) and I prefer consuming book then movie, not movie then book. But I have to say and don't think less of me please, the cover [ http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/caldronspain/images/jk.gif ] kinda turned me off. The colors, the bird, the fat dude- it's 6 kinds of wrong. I think i'll buy a paperback and rip the cover off.
